Rule Of Thirds





Vantage Points

side view

front view: zoomed in

front room: zoomed out

bird view (from above)

worms view (from below)

Taking these pictures from these different points change the way the subject is portrayed by making the sizes and view of the elephant change.

I like the the side view best because it has the green background which makes the elephant more visible in some part while the brown boards make it darker in some spots.

I had trouble doing the two front view pictures. If I did it again I would probably use a different angle.

My Evaluation
  • Composition: There are many shapes and sizes of beads and necklaces and also the cloth.
  • Focus: The woman is very clear while the background is very blurry.
  • Framing: The second have of the woman is cropped off.
  • Background: There seems to be people walking around behind her.
  • Foreground: Cannot see whats in front of her.
  • Subject: A woman on her day of marriage.
  • People / Clothing: She is wearing what seems to be traditional wedding attire.
  • Pose: She seems to be kneeling in prayer.
  • Expression: She seems to be happy and excited for her future.
  • Action: She looks like she is praying.
  • Lighting: There are dark shadows behind her be the seems to be light facing her.
  • Point of View: The photographer possible took the shot from in front of her.
  • Meaning: The photographer took this photo probably to show her happiness.

  • Setting: Somewhere in India.

  • Background: Background is blurred, but there are some slightly visible leaves and/or vines.
  • Foreground: Cannot see whats in front of tiger.

  • Focus: The Tiger is completely clear while the background is extremely blurred.

  • Vantage Point / Point of View: The photographer seems to have been very close but he/she could have just zoomed in from far away.

  • Composition: The tiger has lines that become a pattern all over his/her body. The photo is in black and white.

  • Lighting: This pictures makes me feel like the tiger was annoyed by what he/she saw
